The Center for Medical Weight Loss Appoints Microsoft Executive to Board

The Center for Medical Weight Loss ( a three year old business that is rapidly transforming the weight loss industry by empowering physicians to help patients fight obesity, today announced it has appointed Microsoft executive, Scott Howe, to its board of directors.

The rapidly expanding company currently has 300 weight loss centers across 43 states and is already the largest network of medical weight loss providers in the United States. The centers offer customized weight loss treatments that are administered exclusively by doctors and based on proprietary programs developed by Dr. Michael Kaplan, a recognized leader in the emerging field of bariatric medicine.

Mr. Howe, a corporate vice president at Microsoft, has global revenue and cost responsibility for all existing and emerging businesses in Microsoft's Advertiser and Publisher Solutions (APS) group.

Howe joined Microsoft through its acquisition of aQuantive Inc. in 2007 and is a seasoned veteran in the online advertising space, having served aQuantive as founder and President of DRIVEpm (since renamed Microsoft Media Network) and Atlas sales and service globally. Prior to his involvement with DRIVEpm, Howe spent four plus years as the VP, GM of Avenue A | Razorfish. He also spent six years with the Boston Consulting Group and two years in investment banking with Kidder, Peabody and Co.
